HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks Announces 2016 Driver Lineup

HScott 2016 line upMOORESVILLE, N.C. – HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks (HSMJM) is proud to announce the organization’s 2016 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) driver lineup: J.J. Haley, Hunter Baize, Harrison Burton and Tyler Dippel. Haley will return to the team following his 2015 rookie campaign in the series. Baize, Burton and Dippel will compete full time in the NKNPSE during the 2016 season and also will compete for Rookie of the Year honors.

Haley, 16, earned six top-five and 10 top-10 finishes in 14 starts with HSMJM in 2015. The Indiana native finished sixth in the NKNPSE driver point standings. Haley also made three starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2015, with a career-best finish of seventh at Phoenix International Raceway in November.

Baize, 18, finished third in the ARCA/CRA Super Series point standings last season with two wins at the Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Ind. and Flat Rock Speedway in Carlton, Mich. Baize also finished ninth in his ARCA Racing Series debut at Berlin Speedway in Marne, Mich. He followed that with a sixth-place run at Springfield’s Illinois State Fairgrounds.

Justin Gill Hopes for Success in Hometown Race at Southern National

Justin GillLUCAMA, NC – Justin Gill has had a lot of success at Southern National Motorsports Park in his racing career and he hopes to have even more in next Saturday night’s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model event.

The 25-year-old from Wilson, North Carolina won the track championship at Southern National in the Mini-Stock division in 2013, scoring four wins that season. He made the move up to the PASS South Super Late Model Series in 2014, making his debut in the season finale which was held at Southern National. Now, he’s coming back to Southern National to make his third career Super Late Model start – fresh off an 11th place finish in a series race at Caraway Speedway in July.

“I think we’ll be good,” Gill said. “It would be stupid not to believe we couldn’t win. We’re facing a lot of good cars. It would mean the world to me. We strived for a top-10 at Caraway and finished 11th. We’d love to go there, lead every lap, start on pole. If we can get a good top-five, that’s what we’re concerned about being only our third race with this series. It’s tough competition. If we can get a top-five, I’ll be tickled to death.”

Gill was born and raised in Wilson, North Carolina and has raced at Southern National Motorsports Park since he was 15. His hometown roots give him extra motivation to run well in the 150 lap race, but also motivating him is the presence of his friends and family who will be in attendance on September 26th.

“I’ve never been more focused going to a race in my life,” Gill explained. “I have a bunch of family coming from out of town. It’s really nice when you have a racing family you can grow with. It means a deal to me. We race all over so they don’t have an opportunity to watch me so it’s a perfect chance to get a hometown crowd out there.”

If Gill does meet his strong expectations for the race, he says he will have crew chief Chris Haggans to thank for that.
