Jesse grew up around racing. His father was tire changer in both Cup and what is now formerly knows as the Busch series on top of spotting. Jesse started working around the shop as a kid sweeping floors, something just to be around the cars. After a while he started to helped Shayne Lockhart as tire specialist as well as a spotter. He started spotting for guys like Sam Hunt in the K&N East Series, Eddie and Chris Johnson in both Late Models and Modifieds on the NASCAR weekly circuit. Things took a turn in his spotting career when he received a call from C.E. Falk to spot for George Brunnhoelzl III – aka GB3 – at Langley Speedway for just one race, hees been with the multiple time NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified champ since 2012. In his time above the racing surface Jesse has spotted for various K&N drivers and got the call to his very first Xfinity team in 2016.

Some more accomplishments for the RVA native include a track championships with Mason Bailey & Chris Johnson at Southside Speedway. Rookie of the Year with Grayson Cullaither in the Late Models at Southside as well as coaching Lauren Edgerton to her first victory in a modified at Southside Speedway.

Jesse Vaughan, a dedicated husband and father to his beautiful wife Mindy and little boy Caleb – the two are expecting their second son Wyatt in February – joined The Weekly Racer as co-host to The Short Track Report in 2016.
