Defending FASTRAK World Champion Logan Roberson Looks to Defend That Title From the Pole

Roberson celebrates in VMS victory lane earlier in the Prelude to the Championship. As the defending race winner Roberson is a favorite to go back-to-back.

Jamacia, VA– There is one thing certain about Pro Late Model racing on dirt and that is if the blue No. 17 of Logan  “Thug Nasty” Roberson rolls into town you better best be on your game.

Roberson, last years FASTRAK Pro Late Model World Champion, has not only been backing that title up all year winning up and down the east coast this year but also by earning the ability to lead the field to the green flag later tonight putting himself in prime position for a repeat victory along with a $50,000 payday.

This years pole position did not come as easy as last year, however, as drivers competed in two separate heat races – 16 total – using a passing points formula to earn points. The A-Main lineup would be set by the most points earned which of course went to Roberson thanks to his last place to second place run in heat one then following that up with a wire-to-wire victory from the pole in heat race number two.

Fifteen other drivers locked themselves into the 75-lap A-Main later this evening. Everyone else will compete in a series of B-Main features to set the rest of the line-up from position sixteen to twenty-six. Number of B-Mains will be determined by total car count – series officials are aiming to keep the mains limited to twelve cars. Two Provisional’s will fill the final two starting positions, twenty-seventh and twenty-eighth – Virginia Motor Speedway track points provisional & FASTRAK AFCO shock provisional.

Hot laps are scheduled to get under way at 6:30 PM EDT. B-Main for the UMP Modifieds will kick off the night’s actions followed by the B-Mains for the Pro Late Models.  Hot laps for the A-Main drivers will follow then of course we will finish the evening off with the 40-lap UMP Modified Feature as well as the 75-lap FASTRAK World Championship.

You can catch all the actions LIVE on Speed 51 PPV coverage as well as LIVE text updates throughout the entire afternoon and evening here starting approx. 5:00 PM EDT >> https://bit.ly/2kMnVYfthanks to the fine folks at B5 Designs. FASTRAK A-Main & B-Main lineups can be found below.
