Domination is the Word of the Night at Virginia Motor Speedway

Jamaica, VA – Chris Arnold had different plans on Saturday morning to go racing in West Virginia but with too much of a chance of rain, and they decided to stick to their home track, Virginia Motor Speedway. The change worked out great for the 99w car after being able to take the lead on the first lap of the race.

When the green flag flew Joey Polevoy took the lead but broke coming around on the next lap putting Arnold into the lead. The second caution of the night flew just a lap later when Jeff Solinger looked to have something break in his rear slammed into Mark Schools taking them both out of the race.

A couple of other cautions wouldn’t slow Arnold down as he cruised to the checkers but behind him, Hunter McClendon had a really good run to finish in second place after passing Chase Butler late in the race.

Over in the Victory Lap Pro Late Models, the drivers started things off with a three wide battle for the lead. Mark Parks tried holding off Davis Lipscombe but had nothing for him after the first lap. Logan Roberson set the fastest time and rolled off 6th for the feature and started his climb to the front early.

Just eight laps in Roberson made it three wide down the front stretch and took over second place but by this time Lipscombe had a significant lead. Logan caught a break though when on lap-11 the caution came out while he was a straight away back from the leader.

Davis got a good jump on the single file restart and Roberson did his best to keep up with him. Logan’s best shots at the lead came with just a few laps left as the two leaders were trying to negotiate through traffic. Lipscombe held off the hard charging Roberson for a flag to flag win.
