Southside Speedway 75-Lap Late Model Feature Race TONIGHT!


MIDLOTHIAN, VA – On Friday, May 19 the Late Model division at Southside Speedway will run 75 laps rather than their normal 40 laps. Running its third race of the season, the track has opened 2017 with the largest Late Model car count in the state. This is a race you won’t want to miss!

The family-owned track in Chesterfield prides itself on being a family-friendly venue entertaining generations of fans and will continue their fifty-eight-year tradition of great local short track racing in Central Virginia. There are six different divisions of cars racing each race night: Late Models, Modifieds, Grand Stocks, UCARS, Legends and Bandoleros.

Front gates open at 6:00 p.m. Qualifying starts at 6:00 p.m. and racing gets underway around 7:30 p.m. Catch qualifying and all six divisions for hours of racing action! If you can’t make it trackside, don’t worry, The Weekly Racer will be on hand to provide you with up to the lap updates LIVE on our Twitter Feed (@theweeklyracer). Coverage for the support divisions will be determined upon arrival to the track.

About Southside

Southside Speedway is a 1/3 mile, paved oval track located on Genito Road in Midlothian, Virginia. The speedway was established in 1959 by J.M. Wilkinson and is currently run by his daughter, Sue W. Clements, and granddaughter, Jennifer Mullis. The speedway features six divisions including Late Models, Modifieds, Grand Stocks, U-Cars, Legends and Bandoleros. The speedway hosts twelve nights of racing from April through August.
