Philip Morris Sets Track Record for SoBo Pole

South Boston, VA – Eighteen NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late models took to the fresh pavement at South Boston Speedway for the 60th Anniversary of the historic track for twin 100 lap races.

Philip Morris set fast time in the final round of euro qualifying running a 14.731 second lap with a top speed of 100.197 miles per hour to beat the previous record from 2007, a 15.314 second lap. Altogether twelves cars surpassed the previous.

Tyler Matthews, 2016 NC State Champion, makes a trip to Virginia to try his hand at the 4/10th mile banked track. Nick Smith, 2016 Dominion Raceway track champ, is also mixing it up.
