The Weekly Racer Opens Double Header Weekend At Southside Speedway Friday Night

Hampton, VA – What’s better than a night at the race track? Well that’s pretty simple, TWO nights at the race track! Friday night marks night one of this weekends double header with The Weekly Racer when we visit Southside Speedway in Midlothian, Virginia. A short track that is not on the NASCAR HomeTracks list but has been on our list for years to attend.

Seven different divisions will hit the Chesterfield County short track for the third week in a row, with the help of Mother Nature of course! Practice is set to get underway shortly after 5:00 PM. Grandstands & Qualifying is set to get under way approx 6:00 PM with the green flag flying at 7:00 PM.

The IMCA style Modifieds will headline our Tiwtter coverage @theweeklyracer tonight for their 30-lap feature. Kyle Wood, winner of last weeks race, will look to close in on points leader Chris Johnson who happened to finish just behind him July 31st.

Of course what would a TWR coverage be without Late Model Stock Cars! Chris Dodson looking for consecutive victories as well as distancing himself from Eddie Johnson in the points standing!

We will also have up to the lap coverage for the ever popular Grandstock division as well as the Legends* division!

I would like coverage to start on Twitter at 6:00 PM with qualifying but I do ask for a little bit of lead way as I am not sure how traffic will treat me! If we have any major changes we will be sure to make a post on our Twitter!
*Coverage of the legends division will depend on car count. The UCAR 25-lap feature is our back up*
