Langley Speedway: Officials Make The Right Call, Racing Tonight Cancelled

Hampton, VA – With the National Weather Service issuing a “hazardous weather outlook” in the area for Saturday evening Langley Speedway officials made the right call to pull the plug on the nights events. No promotor really wants to cancel the night so early but with “thunderstorms in the forecast could produce large hail, damaging winds and localized flooding…” it shows that the speedway is looking out for the best interest of its fans and racers.

With forecast models showing a slight rise in temps through out the day and the chance of rain at the drop of a hat, things get a little more worrisome as the afternoon chugs on. 4:00 PM EDT seems to be the time of the most activity as some pretty serious looking cells start to roll in from the west as well as the south. Make sure everyone stays safe, if you don’t have to be out on the roads don’t!

Racing will continue at the short track next Friday for Budweiser Night and their Independence Day Extravaganza. Five divisions are set to take the track along with a spectacular firework show!
