Twelve Nights of Racing in 2015 at Richmond’s Local Short Track
MIDLOTHIAN, VA – Southside Speedway will return from this winter’s nap on Friday, April 3, 2015. Sue Clements has announced next season’s schedule for the “Toughest Short Track in the South!” The engines will come to life with all six divisions running a full season, just like in 2014.
The schedule will run every other Friday night from April 3 through August 28. Please see the attached race calendar. The rain dates will be May 8, June 19, July 31, and August 14. The track will hold an Open Practice on March 21 for all divisions with a rain date of March 28. The Driver Meet & Greet dates are May 1 and August 21.
The Late Models and Modifieds will be on the schedule for 30 laps, the Grand Stocks, U-Cars and Legends will run 25 laps and the Street Stocks will battle for 20 laps. NEW IN 2015 will be a Bandolero division. It will be made up of both boys and girls, ranging in age from 8-14 years old. Their first night on the schedule will be April 17, followed by May 15, and then they will join the regular schedule in June for the remainder of the season.
Southside Speedway is a 1/3 mile, paved oval track located on Genito Road in Midlothian, Virginia. The Speedway was established in 1959 by J.M. Wilkinson and is currently run by his daughter, Sue W.
