Greg Edwards Dominates the Competition In Second Longest Race of the Season
HAMPTON, Virginia – (May 31, 2014) Greg Edwards took his 97.3 The Eagle machine to the pole for Saturday nights 150 lap feature for the ComServe/Verizon Wireless Late Model Stock Cars, the second longest race of the year! I was a little disappointed with only twelve cars taking the green flag. I would of figured more teams would want to get some practice in for Langley’s Hampton Heat 200 one of the most exciting races on the schedule this season. Edwards did not mind though as he took off with ease to lead from flag to flag and capture win number three on the season, this now pulls him even with Matt Waltz. Nick Smith, Casey Wyatt, Mark Wertz & Matt Waltz were the cars that rounded out the top five. The Late Models will be back in action next week June 7th for twin 64 lap races!
Humblet scored his second victory in 2014 as well as in a row. He too put his purple and black number 11 machine on the pole for the Larry King Law modified division. 14 cars would take the green flag, only the 48 machine of Balluzzo would have anything for Humblet! Caution flags seemed to be the achilles heel for the 6 time champ of Balluzzo who would finish the race in the second spot, Matt Sly, Danny Herrell and Scotty Lawrence would round out your top 5! Modified’s return to the track next week also for twin 30 lap features!
